click click – 05-05-10
Welcome to click click, the sporadic roundup of what I find worth clicking on the internet. I’ve decided to start off the linkage with a picture from now on.

Brett Grundlock is a photographer who contacted me this week about a show that he is doing called Runway, a collection of photographs taken at LG Fashion Week. The opening is tomorrow, May 6 from 6pm-10pm at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.
- Fabulously Broke in the City is a great source of info on all things money, style and shopping related – and she has a knack for finding great graphics too. Check out How Class Works and Plutocracy Reborn.
- Speaking of money, this explains what goes into a $550 pair of khakis.
- The FTC put their thumb down on Ann Taylor LOFT for offering a “gift” to bloggers in exchange for posts. First of all, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to blogger kickbacks – and second of all, I was under the impression that it would be the bloggers who would be penalized, not the providers of freebies. No? That changes the balance of things.
- I wholeheartedly agree with Anil Dash’s take on the #FAIL meme. Calling other people out on their failures is schoolyard bullying with a hashtag in front of it. Everybody who tries, fails sometimes – let them. Hat tip to Tatiana for the link.
- Dramatis Personae discusses something I’ve never experienced and often wondered about – how do fashion bloggers, especially outfit and shopping bloggers, handle the financial pressure to constantly acquire new things?
- Grace Jones is interviewed by the Guardian. “Ehehehehe! Chchchch! Ahahahaha.”
- The Daily Beast takes a look at fashion bloggers. I don’t know about this gallery, some of these bloggers are only tenuously associated with fashion.
- Gawker says… “We’re going to boycott The Hills this season, because it’s managed to go from mildly amusing horrorshow to something far more sinister.” Since when does Gawker turn away from a sinister train wreck? I thought that was what Gawker was for.
Grateful karma for everyone who dropped a link or a comment my way this week!
- shopgen did a little interview with me, and dug up some archival illustrations to go with it.
- Elle, naturally – “It’s completely selfish mind you, I’m hoping to find out who I am and who I’m supposed to be.”
- Brittney Daylee says she has a pair of my boots – send pictures please Brittney!
