click click – 14-01-10

Welcome to Click Click, the fairly regular roundup of what I find worth clicking on the internet.
- Charles Kliebacker has died. I am devastated to think I will never have the opportunity to meet him – I have been a fan of his work since I was a teenager, he is one of America’s most under-appreciated fashion geniuses. Discovered via The Soul of My Shoes.
- Andrew Sardone at NOW ponders the identification of trends according to style-reporting standards, and also includes a hat tip to my post on designers forgoing fashion shows.
- Kell on Earth. I’m looking forward to this more even more than the FW10 collections – the sneak peek suggests that it may deliver the holy grail – fashion insiders on remarkably un-contrived reality television.
- The Catwalk Cats
combines things I adore – observations of life in fashion, adorable illustrations (by Grace Coddington!) and cats. Must find this book.
- Worn Through belongs to that Deeply Superficial niche of academic fashion blogging – well dressed minds.
- Suggested by a customer who bought my Paper Dolls book, a reminder of all the wonderful Tom Tierney paper doll books, especially the ones of classic movie stars. Lovely!
- Made by Hand meticulously tears apart and documents the details of hand-tailored suits. Found via Jas of Savillian.
- Applying geometric patternmaking to classic clothing at ANREALAGE, sent to me by Timo. Also from Timo – Flintoff, the story of a man who chooses to make all the clothes he wears.
Clicky karma for kind commenters and incoming linkers…
- parker max industries – “A regular at New York Fashion Week scouting the latest trends for her clientele and enjoying front row anonymity whenever possible.”
- Vida Moda – “Always looking for ways to beautify my new home, and my closet… and of course to get inspired.”
- Saint Moxie – “Translating favorite characters and stories into modern fashion and style.”
- Beauty is Diverse – “Here you will find the latest images of models (of various ethnic backgrounds) working the runways of New York, Milan, London, Paris, Toronto & around the globe.”
- Shop T.O. Live – “Working, living and shopping in Toronto. My personal style/fashion/shopping journal.”

Forgive my exuberance, I’m so delighted you discovered Timo. I came across his work in 2007 (http://bit.ly/72KPXA) and was really hoping he’d get some traction. I posted one of his concepts as a reverse pattern puzzle (http://bit.ly/M9OsK) which was a lot of fun. He has just moved to NY and will be teaching at FIT so you may be able to connect if you go to the city (he’s very accessible). I told him that I don’t plan to be going to NY any time soon but he may be coming to stay with me this summer. I think he’d really enjoy Santa Fe.
Kathleen – you introduced me to Timo, remember the reverse pattern demo?
Anyway, I do want to visit NYC this year and when I do I’ll definitely call Timo =)
