The Book Club is a “thinking and drinking” sort of establishment located not too far from where I live, and among the many other diversions, they also offer life drawing classes. For a mere £8 you have the opportunity to sketch a live nude model, and have a glass of cider if you’re so inclined. Hat tip to Julian for giving me the heads up on this one.

I was expecting something a little more raucous, along the lines of Dr. Sketchy’s – but it was totally different – a very studious atmosphere, with the host Murray making himself available to attendees almost like a teacher. I used it as an opportunity to try something different with my watercolour pencils, and I’m pretty pleased with how these two turned out.
