Lovas SS10

Wesley Badanjak’s Lovas line is a perfect fit for LG Fashion Week. It was an impressive show for a young designer – of  course, one who has worked with veteran designer David Dixon and who already showed a really gorgeous FW09 collection at FAT.  I borrowed a front row seat from a gracious editor and was captivated by the flawless construction and the youthful lightness of the dresses.  Some of the separates felt a lot older, and the thought occurred to me that Badanjak’s very wearable and salable designs sometimes seem, pardon the expression, “Dixon Lite”.  I look forward to seeing Wesley’s progress because he has all of the qualities a business-minded Canadian designer needs, and I know that as his experience and confidence develop his personality will become more evident in his designs.
