Project Runway Canada 2 – gift for a finalist

dress designed by Jessica Biffi

Last night I went to watch the finale of Project Runway Canada 2 with finalist and fashion school friend Jessica Biffi.  Coincidence – it was also her birthday party!  As a little gift I made her a special runway postcard with an illustration of one of my favourite designs from the show – Jessica’s dress for Elisha Cuthbert from Episode 2.

Jessica didn’t win the game but her collection was stellar, all the more amazing for being a first collection.  Remembering how over-the-top her grad capsule collection was, it was incredible to see her grow as a designer on Project Runway Canada.  It made me so proud to see her execute sweet cocktail dresses, sassy little jumpers, and sexy gowns.

Last night she was so happy, surrounded by fans and friends, and I know she will find a place for herself in fashion.  Excited to see what she will do next now that she is outside of the thunderdome!

    4. I want to buy Jessica’s winners dress. Sunny deserved to win but there were several pieces by Jessica that many women would love to wear, and I would too (especially if I were a foot taller.) That first jacket and the long low cut floaty dress were masterful. The hip hop/hollywood glam was a wonderful theme that she should keep working on. That little gold dress with the hood was so beautiful. Not everyone can wear it, but it was a work of art.

I expect big things of both Sunny and Jessica. So much talent in Canada.

it was a pity the best thing in Jason’s show was the part of a dress he didn’t design. not good…

    9. [...] Jessica’s birthday party/finale viewing included a cake… with a tv on it… with her face on it!  Here she is, cutting off her face.  Seconds later she bit her face. Fellow Project Runway Canada alumni were in attendance – group photo op! [...]
