what I wear – outfit from Yorkdale Mall
Best fashion blog friend ever, Anita of I want – I got surprised me with a trip to Yorkdale Mall this week, where she had the opportunity to style a friend (me!) on the house, with the assistance of the mall’s personal shopping program.
By the way, the Yorkdale Mall personal shopping program is a FREE service, and if you’re like me and you need a little or a lot of guidance to get your shopping done well, its worth a call.
Anita knew exactly what she had in mind for me – I tend to be a dressed-down kind of fashion girl and she wanted to dress me up. She made me try on about 20 dresses in Club Monaco – the lucky winner ended up being dress #2, a structured, sharp shouldered mini with pockets in silver-patterned jacquard plaid.
She matched it up with these silver Michael by Michael Kors shoes from Capezio.
I did my best to do the look justice with a Jessica Jensen clutch, inexpertly applied blush from Ditzy and seed pearl earrings from Cat’s Cradle. And I felt very pretty.
We took the look out to the National Post’s Worthy 30 cocktail last night at Hugo Boss, and for once in my life I felt appropriately dressed for the mink mile. Anita has a real eye for styling, I really felt transformed but still true to my own tastes. Thanks so much Anita, you rock <3

Dude, you look gorgeous.
Lucky girl that you got the look for free – and on what sounds like a super-fun day!
Looks great! Blogging friends are the best part of blogging.
Anita did great! Now if it would stay consistently warm, you could probably ditch those tights!
Wow. So pretty!
Danielle you look fecking fabulous!!
You look amazing, D! I love the earrings and dress. :D
My my, that’s a flattering outfit. Looking sharp.
Outstanding! Just outstanding! (Anita rocks.)

Gorgeous! From head to toe! (I adore the shoes)
You look gorgeous – as soon as I saw that look, I actually thought “Danielle must have gone shopping with Anita” – it’s definitely an Anita look, but tailored to suit you.
I’m impressed with the shoes–I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in heels, and you look great!
You look great! Love the dress and the earrings! Fab!
As a real-life witness to the outfit I will just say that it was indeed stunning… Dress up more often :)
Perfect look for you Danielle. This outfit brings out your natural beauty!
Anita did such a great job. The outfit is beautiful and suits your petite frame.
My, but you do look great! I especially love the shoes. That dress is quite a contrast with some of your usual pieces, but I do think the shoulders and waist suit you wonderfully. And you do look very sweet in your last picture. <3
Thanks so much all, know that Anita really does deserve all the credit for this one.
